Who is uninsured in Massachusetts
184,401 people under 65 in Massachusetts have no health coverage — 3.3% of the under-65 population, among the lowest uninsured rates in the country. Of those, 84,846 earn inside the premium tax credit range — 46% of the state's uninsured.
46,618 uninsured Massachusetts residents (25% of the total) earn under $22,025. Massachusetts expanded Medicaid, so that group mostly qualifies for it instead — and it enrolls year-round.
Where Massachusetts residents enroll, and by when
Massachusetts does not use HealthCare.gov. It runs Massachusetts Health Connector at mahealthconnector.org, and sets its own enrollment dates — which are not always the federal ones. Applying at HealthCare.gov will redirect you.
