Licensing, and how to check it
This site is not an insurance agency. Here is who is, and how to look them up.
This page exists so you can check who you are dealing with rather than trusting a claim on a website.
HealthPlanIndex is not an insurance agency and holds no insurance licenses. We are a publisher. We do not sell, quote, solicit or negotiate insurance, and nothing on this site should be read as an offer to do so.
The agency behind the phone number
| Agency | Clearline Health Insurance |
|---|---|
| National Producer Number | 19024830 |
| Role | Licensed insurance agency. Discusses, quotes and enrolls. |
| Phone | (866) 843-0930 |
| Hours | 9am – 6pm, Monday through Friday, Eastern time |
How to verify this yourself
A National Producer Number is issued by the NAIC and recorded in the Producer Database. Anyone can look it up, free:
- Go to the NIPR licensing center and choose "Look up a National Producer Number" (nipr.com).
- Search by NPN and enter 19024830.
- The database returns the entity's name, and which states it is licensed in and for which lines of authority.
State insurance departments run their own lookups too, and a state's own database is the authority for whether an agency may sell in that state.
Licensing is by state
An insurance agency is licensed state by state, not nationally, and holding a license in one state says nothing about another. We do not publish a list of states here, because a list that drifts out of date is worse than no list: an agency's licenses can lapse, be added, or be renewed at different times of the year, and the national database always knows before we would.
If you want to know whether the agency can sell in your state, the reliable answers are the NPN lookup above or asking them directly on the call.
You will notice we make no claim to be "licensed in all 50 states". It is a common line on sites like this one and it is frequently untrue. We would rather give you the number to check than a claim to believe.
What we are not
HealthPlanIndex is not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by HealthCare.gov, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, any state health insurance exchange, or any insurance company. Where insurers are named on this site they are named as a matter of factual reference only.
