Privacy
There is no form on this site. That is most of the privacy policy.
HealthPlanIndex is a static website. It has no accounts, no login, no comment section, and no forms of any kind — there is nowhere on this site to enter your name, your email address, your income or your ZIP code. We do not collect that information because we have not built anywhere to put it.
What this site collects
Nothing you type, because there is nothing to type into.
Like any website, requests to our server may be logged by our hosting provider — the usual technical record of an IP address, a timestamp and a page requested. That is a function of how the web works rather than a choice we made to profile anyone.
Analytics
None. No analytics script runs on this site at present, and no cookies are set. If that changes, this section changes with it — the description is generated from what the site actually loads rather than written by hand, so it cannot drift out of date.
What happens if you call
The phone number connects you to Clearline Health Insurance, a separate company. When you call them, you are talking to them and not to us.
- Whatever you tell them on that call — your name, your income, your household, your health — is held by them under their privacy policy, not this one.
- HealthPlanIndex does not receive a transcript, a recording, or the details you discuss.
- We are told that a call happened, because that is what we are paid for.
Calls to (866) 843-0930 are recorded by Clearline Health Insurance.
Recording is done by the agency, not by HealthPlanIndex. We do not receive the recordings and never hear them. They are held by Clearline Health Insurance under their own retention policy, and questions about how long they are kept, who can listen to them, or a request for a copy or deletion need to go to the agency directly.
Several states require that everyone on a call consents to it being recorded. The agency is responsible for obtaining that consent, and you should expect to be told at the start of the call. If you are not told, and you would rather not be recorded, say so — or hang up and use HealthCare.gov, which is free and where nobody records anything.
If you want to know exactly what the agency does with your information, ask them on the call and ask for their privacy policy. It is a reasonable question and they should answer it.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies of its own. It has no login to remember and no basket to keep.
Third parties
We do not sell, rent or share personal information, and the reason is structural rather than virtuous: we do not have any. There is no mailing list, no lead database, and no advertising network embedded in these pages.
Children
This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Your rights
Residents of some states, including California, have rights to access, delete and opt out of the sale of personal information. Those rights apply to personal information a business holds. Where we hold none, there is nothing to access or delete — but if you believe we hold something about you, you are entitled to ask, and we will tell you honestly.
For information you gave the agency on a call, the request needs to go to them, since they are the ones holding it.
Changes
If this policy changes we will change the date below. Where a change is material we will note it on the corrections page.
