Who is uninsured in New Mexico

218,391 people under 65 in New Mexico have no health coverage — 13.4% of the under-65 population, 6th highest of the 51 states and DC. 107,678 (49%) earn inside the premium tax credit range.

71,803 uninsured New Mexico residents (33% of the total) earn under $22,025. New Mexico expanded Medicaid, so that group mostly qualifies for it instead — and it enrolls year-round.
