Who is uninsured in Rhode Island

46,214 people under 65 in Rhode Island have no health coverage — 5.3% of the under-65 population, among the lowest uninsured rates in the country. Of those, 22,701 earn inside the premium tax credit range — 49% of the state's uninsured.

Where Rhode Island residents enroll, and by when

Rhode Island does not use HealthCare.gov. It runs HealthSource RI at healthsourceri.com, and sets its own enrollment dates — which are not always the federal ones. Applying at HealthCare.gov will redirect you.

Rhode Island's 2027 dates are not settled. HealthSource RI has published a January 31 deadline; its start date for 2027 is not yet confirmed. We would rather say that than print a deadline we cannot source.

Checked 2026-09-01. 2027 dates moved nationally after a court ruling — what changed and why.
